How to check Internet speed from the command line with Pisi Linux

I would test my Internet Speed, while i had problems with my Upload and Download Speed.

So i have search at the WWW, and found a simple Introducing for it:

Speedtest is a simple CLI client written in Python for measuring bidirectional Internet bandwidth by using Speedtest.net infrastructure. It works with Python 2.4-3.4. Installing the latest speedtest-cli is nothing more than downloading the Python script.

Open a Terminal and type the following:

 wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py
 chmod a+rx speedtest.py
 sudo mv speedtest.py /usr/local/bin/speedtest-cli
 sudo chown root:root /usr/local/bin/speedtest-cli

To start it type simple in your Terminal:

 speedtest-cli

That was all and here see you a simple output

speed

It was simple and easy to Test it. This works on the most Linux Distributions while Python is installed on the most Distributions as Default.

You found the original Introducing on the GitHub here:

speedtest-cli

Note when you try the Introducing from this Website you become an error output from wget, so as i write it here above in the Introducing was it correct

Have fun to try it, and many thanks for reading.20
