.) At the first make a right click at the Menu in your Panel (Systray). click on Edit Applications.
.) As next go to the category from your Software ( Atom Text Editor is for Development ) also click on Development
.) Click on New Item and give in the Item Name such as here Atom
.) Give in a short Description from the Software you can take it from the Website such as here: (A hackable text editor for the 21st Century)
.) Now give in a Comment for it this can take you too from the Website such as for Atom: Atom is a text editor that’s modern, approachable, yet hackable to the core—a tool you can customize to do anything but also use productively without ever touching a config file.
.) Now you must add the command for the Software, i have always for Software in my Home folder a folder with the Name bin for Software what runs out of the Box. Click at the Folder Symbol after the command line it open the Folder Browser and navigate to the executable file for your Software. 7.) As last you can add the Icon for it, click on the Symbol at the right site between Name and Description, it open the Select Icon Menu, click on “other Icons” click on Browse and navigate here to the path of the Icon from your Software for Atom it is: /home/groni/bin/atom-1.7.3/out/icons/ xxx.png.
